Following the success of her lip kit (review here), Kylie Jenner recently released her latest addition to the Kylie Cosmetics line: the Kylie Gloss. The glosses have really sweet names, they're Like, Literally, So Cute! No seriously, those are their actual names. Kylie stuck to her initial colour scheme as she did with her first lip kit release with a trio of brown-toned nudes. Like is the darkest, Literally is a middle-ground shade and So Cute is the lightest. I got my hands on the middle colour 'Literally' which is a nude colour that works perfectly with my KokoK lip kit on NC30 skin.

I personally haven't experienced this with mine but I've heard that Kylie's changed the brush and is sending a new gloss to everyone who has the old one. So well done to Kylie for rectifying the situation as soon as a problem arose.
For glosses these are extremely pigmented and a lipstick underneath really isn't necessary, it's just all about personal preference. These glosses get two massive thumbs up from me, and as I'm not usually a gloss person this really is a huge compliment. I was the first to jump on the matte lip train but I'm also ready to get off and join the rest of the world where there are other lip options. After my huge success with Kylie's gloss, I've gone ahead and ordered Heir from her Metal Matte collection so hopefully there will be a review of that up soon also.
What do you think about these glosses? Do you think you'll try one?
I'm not a fan of lip gloss so I didn't try these and I probably won't at all. I do respect her for quickly rectifying the problem but I wonder why she didn't noticed the brush was too long earlier.

From what I've heard it takes a few uses for the brush to actually fray, and as proven not all brushes do (mine hasn't and is the long style) so it probably just didn't come up in testing. I think she handled the situation really well.

Nice review! I've never tried any of her products, but I've always been curious!

I've heard about the brush issue. Thankfully you didn't experience the same problem.
ReplyDeleteGood to know that you got a good brush. I wonder if she would have sent new products out if Jeffree DID NOT call her out, though, ya know?!
ReplyDeleteALSO, thank you for stopping by my blog ;}

Good point!! Hopefully it was just a mistake and they missed it during testing.

I am not a fan of Kylie but your post intrigued me. Might just try them!

I've never been a gloss girl but these are lovely. I also didn't buy them for Kylie (I don't really care much for her) but for the formula! Literally one of the best gloss formulas I've tried.

I really love your reviews and have definitely been curious about these! I really love how they're super pigmented :D adored your review on the Peanut Butter and Jelly palette also! Where did you pick it up, if you doing mind me asking? xx

I unfortunately missed out on the Too Faced website and got it from a seller on Depop! It cost £40 but I didn't think that was too bad considering I'd have to pay shipping fees etc from America if I'd bought it direct. It's worth having a look to see if anyone has one. I think a lot of people bought loads extra to sell on (which is totally unfair but I was desperate to get my hands on it!). If you check their seller rating etc and when it arrives (if you can) compare it with a real one and you'll be able to avoid fakes. GL x

They sound incredible in theory but there is no excuse for the wand to look the way Jeffery's did! I've heard such bad things about their customer service & charges regarding customs it puts me off a bit :/ I've just fell in love with the NYX butter glosses' & liquid suede lipsticks!

I think it genuinely was just missed during testing/before release. I've heard it takes a while and a lot of use before (if it even does) the problem to arise, which was likely missed before. I dunno, I'm giving her credit for rectifying the situation so quickly and so well. Everyone makes mistakes.
DeleteThe custom charges are ridiculous though! I didn't think shipping was too bad at first considering it was from America and all but to get hit with a £12-£30 customs fee is a bit much!!
I'm dying to get my hands on some NYX products I'm just such a high end snob that I'm never at the make-up counter in boots! I've recently ordered some Colourpop using 'Shipitto' so I'm dying to see how those are. Thanks for your comment!

I would love to try one of those blushes ! So curious about it ! Kisses

Sorry... what blusher?

I'm not a massive gloss fan and I steer away from matte lips so haven't been tempted by Kylies releases thank god haha my bank is grateful! Can't believe that about the wand, good job she is rectifying it!

I thought about getting on of these lipglosses but I guess the colors don't look good with my skin type, these brown colors are always a little bit tricky.
ReplyDeleteThey're true nudes! I'm hoping she'll release something a bit more pinky soon.

It's nice to finally read a review of someone happy with the glosses. Nice you're one of the lucky ones! :))

I'm actually really pleased that her products are actually good, rather than just your typical low quality celebrity endorsement type collection.
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely colours, not sure they'd suit me though!

Same! I thought people were just excited because they were from Kylie Jenner but they're actually really good products. I love her lip kits, the liquid lipstick is just so fluffy and comfortable to wear.

I'm not the hugest lover of lipglosses, but I've seen people wear these and they look pretty good. Looking forward to your Heir review, that's the one I've got my eye on too!

I haven't tried any of Kylie's products yet but I do really want to get my hands on Candy K. I'm not a massive fan of lip glosses but I do think they are really pretty shades. Can't wait to see your review on Heir - I want to order this come payday :)
ReplyDeleteAmy | www.whatamydid.co.uk
I really want to try some of her products, but the price of the postage plus the impending doom of custom charges completely puts me off :( wish I had a friend to share the costs with!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.makeerinover.co.uk
Yeah it gets really costly. I think it's only worth it if you're buying a lot at one time. Check Depop and eBay - there's a lot of genuine sellers there! Expect to pay around £30+ for a lip kit and £20ish for a gloss but it works out cheaper than if you just order the one from her site (£20ish+£10ish shipping+£12 custom fee for one lip kit). GL.

I tried them and really liked it

Wow so many people are making these reviews. The prices are just stupid
ReplyDeleteStefanie | Casualllyawkward | Bloglovin'
They're a really nice product, I think that's why.
DeleteI actually think the product is really reasonably priced, if you live in America they're pretty inexpensive. £30 (inc delivery) is also really reasonable for a lipstick AND a lip liner, it was just custom fees (that not everyone gets) that bumped it up.
