Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Beauty Haul

L-R: Parisian Nite blush, Touche eclat blur perfector, Touche eclat blur primer, Touche eclat foundation, Touch eclat radiant touch concealer, Rouge volupte lipstick in shade 2 Blond Sensuel.
After never really dipping my toe into the water that is YSL Beauty, I dived off the highest bridge and fully submerged myself - which my bank account was not too pleased about. As you probably already know, YSL is a high end brand with high end prices. For the most part, however, I believe the quality of their products match their steep price tags.

Originally starting with the classic Touch Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer (buy here) which was gifted to me, I fell head over heels in love with the brand which resulted in me rushing to my nearest YSL counter to see what else they had on offer.

To try and justify the purchase to myself, I kept reminding myself that I was nearly half way through my beloved Nars All Day Luminous and I should really get another foundation just in case I suddenly run out (Ha! Half a bottle could still last me a good few months). I'm quite picky when it comes to foundations but the girl behind the counter sold me on the Le Teint Touche Eclat and after loving the touche eclat concealer I was somewhat OK with forking out £32.50 for a shiny 30ml bottle of the stuff (sorry bank account...). But did I stop there? You bet I didn't.

Right next to the foundations were their new primers. I'm not usually a primer type of girl - I'm just not that into buying make up that isn't pretty (I have 1000's of lipsticks but only one mascara... Go figure.) - but the gold flecks running through the gel just pulled me straight in and before I could really comprehend what I was doing I was throwing another £30 at the girl behind the counter.

I must have been feeling especially frivolous that day as the blur primer was not the extent of my shopping trip. Just as I was about to dig my car keys out and leave I spotted a pastel pink compact from the corner of my eye, and, well, the rest is history. Anything pink or sparkly usually ends up living inside my make up draws and the Touche Eclat blur perfector was no exception. I wasn't quite sure what the product was (nor do I know now... But I'm saving that for a full review!) but the packaging alone was enough to make me drop yet another £32 on it. Unfortunately after using it for just a few days, and by throwing it in my make up draw and handbag, somehow the pink cushion on the front of the packaging has gotten marked and I just can't get it off :( The blur primer does come in the typical YSL velvet pouch but, in usual me fashion, I lost it within mere minutes of owning it.

Damaged Touche Eclat blur perfector compact :( (Buy here).

And I finally pried myself away from the store and went home with all my new YSL goodies in tow. Well, until I got home and found a Parisian Nite collection blusher on Depop that I just had to have. I really don't have any self restraint.

For a while I was happy. I felt like I didn't need anymore YSL beauty products... Until I went on holiday and saw the YSL counter at Duty Free in the airport. For the first week of our holiday all I could think about was YSL lipsticks so when we found a YSL counter in Morocco I knew it was fate and bought one. I was toying between shade 1 and 2 (both pinky nudes.. duh) and decided on shade 2 Blond Sensuel which is a gorgeous pinky toned nude. Although one of my palest lippies, it's somehow still flattering on my medium toned skin.

Unfortunately the Parisian Nites blush was limited edition and the rouge volupte lipstick in shade 2 has been discontinued so you can't now buy either of these products yourselves.

Despite the slight relapse in Morocco, I think my YSL haul is complete (but I am still dreaming of the Rouge Volupte lipstick in shade 1....)

Once up, I'll link all the full reviews of each product below :)

  1. I have the YSL Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector (which is like the bronzing version of the one you got) and I'm in love with it!
