Mac x Mariah Carey - Lipstick Review (Holiday 2016)

L-R: Dahlinggg!, Bit of Bubbly
Naturally, when mixing Mariah Carey and Mac, a glittery-fabulous-holidayready collection is born. The collection covers a lot of ground, including a golden bronzer-come-highlighter (with Mariah's face embossed into it... because, well, just because), two eyeshadow quads, lipsticks, glosses, blushers, lip pencils, liquid eyeliner, brushes, false lashes and a shimmery body powder. Woah, got all that? I haven't been that interested in Mac for quite some time but when I saw the leaks of this collection I just had to have a couple pieces and in usual me fashion I picked up a couple of pinky-nude lipsticks (duh!).

The two lipsticks that I got were Dahhlinggg! and Bit of Bubbly. Dahlinggg! is described as a peachy, nude cremesheen lipstick and Bit of Bubbly as a light peach with a hint of cooler beige. All the lipsticks in the collection come in the most gorgeous silver glitter packaging (which is surprisingly smooth to touch!) that I'm dying for, and with a butterfly engraved into the lipstick itself. Both shades are similar, with Dahlinggg! being a couple shades darker and slightly warmer than Bit of Bubbly, in my opinion, but they both work as nudes on my NC35 skin-tone. These are true nude shades, rather than pinky-nudes as I'd hoped, but they still work on my complexion and I'm getting a surprising amount of use out of them.

As a make up junkie, I naturally love Mac's usual lipstick formulas and these are no exceptions. Both Dahlinggg! and Bit of Bubbly are creamsheen finishes which, thankfully, are my personal favourite - they're just so hydrating while still being so pigmented! Both bullets provide one swipe colour, but to avoid any streaks I advise applying a couple of layers and with doing so you'll achieve around 4 hours wear time; which for creamsheens is pretty good going.

A peak at more products in the collection. Available to buy here.
If these are still in stock (which I think they are in Selfridges!) I say pick at least one up. The packing is just SO gorgeous and the lipsticks are really lovely in formula. Did you pick up anything from the collection?
